After checking the port there was no damage whatsoever, and it was working on macOS and windows (dual booting) before i started using linux. No matter what kind of headphones i plugin to the laptop audio output works really well, but the audio input doesn't work no matter what type of headphones i use. I have been using manjaro on my macbook air for more than 7-8 months, and it has been great, there were some problems here and there but i managed to fix them, except the problem with mic detection.
