For example, if you are making a website targeting Americans, you can host your server there so they get the fastest load times. This means you can get the best speed and latency in the area of the world you need it. When setting up a Vultr server, you can choose where you would like it located from 17 worldwide locations. It literally will take you a handful of minutes to put up a cloud server on Vultr. You simply use their dashboard to manage the servers you need at that particular time. The Vultr platform allows you to spin up and down your servers at will from their cloud, not requiring any real commitment from your side. They simply say we have servers! Come get them and use them for whatever you need. A lot of people are now turning to Vultr to host blogs and websites, usually using the WordPress platform. You can also use Vultr servers to host gaming servers, the most popular is still probably Minecraft servers.

I'm also not a proficient server admin so if I don't go with a managed provider I would like to install a very lightweight control panel that offers the functionality to create domains, subdomains, install LetsEncrypt, add users (System User, etc.), FTP, etc. My preference is for a managed server provider, BUT, I see the current and potential future limitations of going wit one, plus being locked into the service and control panel which means if switching service providers the server basically needs to be rebuilt. I have read the recommendations on here about managed services (RunCloud, ServerPilot, etc.), but when I look at their documentation and the "Control Panels" they install (Runcloud CP, ServerPilot CP, etc.), they install quite a few other packages (MariaDB, etc.) which if uninstalled to achieve a "clean server", basically mean they won't provide support. The majority will run WordPress and a few will have custom apps that require clean servers without any other software installed (besides Ubuntu 18). I am looking at provisioning a Vultr Cloud Server with Ubuntu for hosting a few domains AND subdomains.
